Congratulations to AFL boundary umpire and WANFLUA Life Member Nathan Doig, who will this week umpire his 300th AFL game in the match between Fremantle and St Kilda on Saturday morning.
This is a massive achievement for an umpire who has put in an incredible amount of work over such a long period of time. Doigy has been at the pinnacle of boundary umpiring for a long time now, and testament to this is the fact that he has umpired 5 AFL Grand Finals in his 300 games.
Doigy is a fantastic member of not only the boundary umpiring group, but also all umpires in WA. His work ethic and constant ability to strive for greatness is something that all umpires should look up to. He is a fantastic leader for younger umpires and this has been demonstrated by the strong core group of WA-based boundary umpires in the AFL over an extended period of time.
Congratulations on this great achievement Nathan, and we wish you all the best for the game on the weekend.
