Congratulations to WAFL boundary umpire and WANFLUA Vice President David Thatcher, who will this week umpire his 100th league game when he officiates in the game between East Fremantle and Claremont tomorrow.
Thatch has displayed resilience throughout his career by overcoming numerous injuries through doing the hard work in the rehab group to work his way back into the main group. In addition, he is one of the most respected umpires on the panel across all disciplines, and always lives out the group’s core values.
Thatch has also shown his willingness to put back into the group and to make it a better place for everyone by serving as the Social Secretary of the WANFLUA from 2013 to 2017, prior assuming the role of Vice President this year. His passion and commitment to these roles have greatly enhanced the umpiring experience for all members of the WANFLUA.
Congratulations to Thatch on this milestone, and all the very best for the game!!
